Jacob Wycoff
Growing up in northeastern Ohio, Jacob was interested in weather at a very early age. His parents bought “Do-It-Yourself” weather stations for him and he spent many hours taking down data. The movie Twister sealed the deal for Jacob. He wanted to be a storm chaser and read every book he could get his hands on. Jacob soon realized it wasn’t much of a life chasing storms three weeks out of the year, but still decided to pursue a meteorology degree. While a student at Western Connecticut State University, Jacob was fortunate to travel to Mississippi’s Gulf Coast on three separate occasions to help the region rebuild from Hurricane Katrina. The destruction Jacob witnessed taught him two things; the awesome power of a hurricane and to never take anything for granted. Jacob worked with Joe to complete their senior research project, titled Terrain-Induced Local Weather Phenomena of Candlewood Lake (you can view it here). He has completed internships at WTNH in New Haven, WBFF in Baltimore, and WRC in Washington, DC. Jacob enjoys all types of weather, but has a passion for tropical storms. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society and founder of 4cast4you. He also currently works for Automated Weather Service (creators of WeatherBug) and writes for the CT Weather Examiner.

Jacob also has his own website called “Being Me”. Vist the site and check him out in a different light (link here).
